The Nautilus

This final video for summer 2025 was a project exploring classic movie sets. I began recreating the Nautilus from 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (1954) a few years ago and aimed to complete a first pass. It’s still a work in progress.

I used 3ds Max along with the Stone Material starter pack for texturing, giving myself about three weeks to work on modeling and textures. A highlight was creating the opening curtain scene and credits in the editor with lights and custom assets. Adjusting the shine of the lights so the letters read clearly proved to be a fun challenge.

Special thanks go to Warren Moore and Cpt. Cybernaut for the incredible audio captures of *20,000 Leagues Under the Sea*, Shaun Whoriskey for the shell scans, and UppercutGames for key assets from the *City of Brass* asset pack. This was truly a fun project, and one I’ll continue updating for sure.
